Fed: ABC TV production job cuts will harm industry: ALP

CANBERRA, Jan 11 AAP - The ABC's decision to cut 105 television production staff would
harm the entire film and television industry, Labor said today.

The ABC said the job cuts would be concentrated in Sydney and Melbourne, which accounted
for 60 per cent of television production staff, but also affect other capital cities.

In answer to questions on notice to a Senate estimates committee hearing, the national
broadcaster said the cuts were needed to bring salary expenditure in line with budgets.
